example availability in resources, market conditions and variations in fam-
ily structure. As a continuation of this work it would be interesting to ana-
lyse diversification in Sami households in the 19th and 20th centuries to find
out how this economic system evolved, not least due to the far-reaching col-
onisation processes that took place during these centuries.
