In this section you can find basic information about procedures, deadlines and
documentation for enrolment in undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes
at the Faculty. You can also find basic information regarding fees, Slovene language
examination, health insurance and scholarships.
The academic year lasts from 1 October to 30 September.
Application procedures for undergraduate studies
In accordance with Slovene legislature the procedures for application and enrolment
are different with regard to citizenship of the candidate: the procedures for EU cit-
izens and foreign citizens with permanent residence in Slovenia who themselves or
their parents are liable for tax in Slovenia are identical to the procedures for Slovene
citizens, while non-EU citizens and Slovene nationals without Slovene citizenship are
treated as foreign citizens.
The calls for enrolment (for undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes) is
published at the end of January and in Spring for the next academic year.

Foreign students, enrolled for the first time in one of the study programmes of the
University of Primorska, who do not speak Slovene or whose knowledge of the
Slovenian language is inadequate, are eligible to enrol in Year Plus. In the first year
of study, students must pass the exam of the Slovenian language course with at least
6 ECTS credit points, and, in addition, they must complete other study obligations/
subjects in the curriculum of the study programme in which they are enrolled, in
the amount of at least 24 ECTS credits (in total 30 ECTS). Any remaining study
obligations from the first year may be completed by students in the next academic
year, when they will be re-enrolled in the first year of the same study programme.
