What is extraordinary in the case of Jonas Sakalauskas, who is the
main initiator of this new operation, is that from 1st of March of this year he
was appointed director of the Vilnius National Opera. What direction this
theatre will take remains to be seen, but it is certain that the developer of
opera start-ups, once again as in the long history of opera, will blow up the
old forms to the benefit of new ideas.
