Robidišče
Robidišče is Slovenia’s westernmost village, surrounded by the bor-
der with Italy. Due to its marginalized location and difficult condi-
tions (especially after the Second World War), the majority of the
young population emigrated and the village emptied. No more than
seven people spend the winter here. However, what once rep-
resented the main weakness, today became an attractive holiday
point for those who seek just for that – isolation from the mod-
ern world. Below the village runs the Nadiža River, a crystal clear
mountain river suitable for fishing and warm enough for swimming.
Several other interesting sights of nature and cultural attractions
are located in the area. Robidišče is also continuously visited by stu-
dents of Geography from the University of Primorska, who explore
the area during their fieldwork seminar.
