step highlight’s prevalent themes and subjects within the musico-
                 logical literature.
            2) Keyword analysis: Compared the corpus against a reference cor-
pus of general Slovenian language to identify keywords – terms
that appear significantly more frequently in the musicological
corpus. This helps in pinpointing specialized vocabulary unique
                 to the discipline.
            3) Collocation analysis: Examined word pairings and collocations to
uncover significant associations between terms, shedding light on
conceptual linkages and common thematic pairings in the texts. 28
The quantitative data obtained from SketchEngine were interpreted in
the context of musicological research. Patterns identified through frequen-
cy and collocation analyses were cross-referenced with the content of the
articles to validate the findings. For instance, a high frequency of terms re-
lated to ethnomusicology would suggest a strong scholarly interest in that
            subfield.
Qualitative assessments were also made by examining concordance
lines to understand the nuances of term usage. This dual approach of com-
bining quantitative data with qualitative insights enhances the reliability
and depth of the analysis. 29
