Klerus akut war. Daher ist die Frage des weiblichen Selbstbewusstseins in
Bezug auf die künstlerische Karriere von S. Kruschelnytska eng mit dem
individuellen und psychologischen Porträt der Sängerin verbunden. Sie
zeichnete sich durch einen ambivertierten Psychotyp aus, der männliche
und weibliche Merkmale der Persönlichkeit in Einklang brachte, was sich
in der Breite des Denkens und der intellektuellen Fähigkeiten zur Verall-
gemeinerung, analytischen Tätigkeit und Lösung strategischer Aufgaben
ausdrückte. Diese Hypothese wird durch ihre konsequente Verteidigung
des Rechts auf Berufswahl und Berufsausbildung, die Kommunikation mit
Männern auf Augenhöhe und die offene Äußerung ihres Standpunkts un-
terstrichen; es bestätigt auch ihre umfassende intellektuelle Entwicklung,
Kenntnisse in acht Fremdsprachen und tiefes wissenschaftliches Studium
jeder Rolle. Ein Zeichen ihrer erfolgreichen Emanzipation war die Erlan-
gung finanzieller Unabhängigkeit sowie die konsequente Verteidigung ih-
rer Prinzipien auch in Konfliktsituationen. S. Kruschelnytska nahm auch
eine feste Position bei der Verteidigung der kulturellen Werte ihres Volkes
ein.

An Attempt at an Analysis of the Factors Influencing a Conductor’s Artistic Interpretation:
Lovro von Matačić in Slovenia
The paper focuses on the artistic career of the conductor Lovro von Matačić
(1899–1985) in his younger years, between the two world wars, when he fre-
quently performed in Slovenia, a period that represented a source of inspi-
ration and artistic growth. After examining the influence of musical train-
ing, which shapes and lays the foundation for the career of every artist, the
paper then looks at previous scholarly analyses and findings and consid-
ers the influence of Matačić’s capacity for individual expression on the con-
ductor’s rostrum, the pulsations of the cultural environment and the abili-
ties of the performing ensembles with which Matačić worked on the overall
principle of artistic expression. Matačić was a conductor capable of comple-
menting the sound picture with the mental and emotional characteristics
of the composer and the knowledge, abilities and energies of the perform-
er. He believed that there was no such thing as a final or definitive interpre-
